A BIG THANKS FOR CELEBRATING OUR 75TH BIRTHDAY WITH US !
From a special 75th logo contest , to a grand “ Eyewitness to History : World War II ” kickoff on December 7 , 2016 marking 75 years to the day of our groundbreaking ceremony , to a special Caddy Stacks golf hole , to a gala Evening of Celebration and Friendship , to a fantastic handmade commemorative quilt , to a special “ Casablanca ” float in the SASD Homecoming parade , to special monthly birthday activities for all ages , to a grand finale Blast From the Past , and so much more , we celebrated our 75th Birthday in style ! We thank the Shaler Township Commissioners , the Library Board , State Senator Randy Vulakovich and State Representative Hal English , Allegheny County Commissioner Ed Kress , 75th Appeal Chairs Harry and Michele Soose , and most of all our local residents for their support as we celebrated these past 75 years of service to our community . We look forward to serving you in the future .

North Pittsburgh Quilts of Valor Showcase Saturday , November 11 and Sunday , The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor . Come view a showcase of their quilts and learn more about their worthy cause .
Wine Tasting with John Eld Saturday , November 11 from 7 to 9PM A fabulous evening to learn about and enjoy some wines with our local expert John Eld . Space is limited so register early ! Cost is $ 30 per person or $ 50 per couple .

Introduction to Historic Native Culture Wednesday , November 8 from 6:30 to 7:30 PM Join Todd “ Ghost in the Head ” Johnson , a local member of the Huron Tribe and a native cultural interpreter , for an evening of interactive programing for all ages . There will be a large display of museum quality artifacts including tools , clothing , weaponry and jewelry . Adults are encouraged to attend as well as children . Q & A session follows .
Native American Dance Customs Tuesday , November 28 from 6:30 to 8 PM Join us for an interactive excursion into a few song and dance customs of select native tribes . View Seneca , Seminole , Sioux , and Crow dance regalia . Join in dances and try out some craftwork as well . All ages welcome !
Woolworks Saturday , November 11 from 10 AM to 5 PM Sunday , November 12 from 1 to 3:30 PM A free biennial rug show presented by the Pittsburgh Rug Hooking Guild featuring recent works by members . Featured fiber artist is Fritz Mitnick . No registration needed and all are welcome .
Shaler Township “ Lite-Up ” Night Saturday , November 18 from 7 to 9 PM SNHL and Shaler Area Middle School Cafeteria SNHL will be open and helping to kick off the holiday season ! Holiday friends will be on hand . Plus music , crafts , and refreshments . No registration needed .

• “ Adopt-a-hole !” We are seeking folks to create a hole for our Caddy Stacks Mini Golf course . Last year families , Friends of the Library , and individuals created really awesome , fun golf holes that were easy to make using materials around the house . And would you like to help that day ?
