‘A TASTE OF SHALER AREA’
BENEFITS EDUCATION
FOUNDATION
Shaler Area Education Foundation hosted the
second annual “A Taste of Shaler Area” event from 5
to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, at Shaler Area High
School.
The evening featured food from local restaurants,
music and a variety of silent auction items, including
student artwork and university scholarships.
The Shaler Area Education Foundation is a non-
profit organization dedicated to supporting the edu-
cational needs and curricular advancement of Shaler
Area students by raising funds that can be used to
purchase additional resources to increase the educa-
tional opportunities for all students in the district.
This year’s event included specialty food samples
from local businesses in the Shaler Area community
including: Cole Café, Hog’s Head Bar & Grill, Isa-
bella’s Pizza, Le Thai Café, Pollak’s Candy, Pittsburgh
Sweet Treats and The Nutrition Group.
Additionally, the Act 80 Band, which includes
current Shaler Area teachers, provided entertainment
throughout the evening.
