This festival celebrates the operational time period of the historical gristmill from 1852 to 1928 , and costumed vendors will display crafts inspired by this time . Artists and craftspeople from the local area demonstrate their skills and provide regional art for sale . Bluegrass music and free tours of the mill will be offered . The historic gristmill houses the fascinating machinery that ground the grain for the community surrounding Slippery Rock Gorge . A Civil War encampment and family activities bring history to life .
