Browse Publications Our Dublin People Change Places The Institute without Boundaries (IwB) presents OurDublin: a transformative proposal that reimagines public service delivery for cities now and in the future. In 2012–13, the IwB partnered with Dublin City Council, Design Twentyfirst Century and the Dublin Institute of Technology to address one of the most important challenges facing Dublin: increasing demands on public services with fewer resources to provide them. After nine months of research and design development, with contributions from DCC, citizens of Dublin and design students from around the world, IwB is pleased to present our conclusions in this publication, OurDublin. The 2010/11 academic year was the second year of the City Systems project at the IwB. The year’s project attempted to understand how to build more resilient cities. The team’s focus was on resolving the challenges facing Lota, a small municipality in Chile. Lota was brought to the IwB’s attention by Latin American Canadian Art Projects, a Toronto arts organization, that partnered with the city after the February 2010 earthquake. The complex problems facing this municipality were an ideal case study for the IwB’s interdisciplinary approach to whole systems design and social innovation. Click to view.
