“I never do these things for
‘prophecy.’ I don’t think what
I’m doing is trying to predict
the future.”

Later, artist, architect, designer and
filmmaker Keiichi Matsuda screened his
short film projects tackling augmented
reality. Matsuda’s films, such as Augmented
(Hyper) Reality Domestic Robocop, a twominute short, present a simple but familiar
scenario: what will it look like in the future
when you wake up and brew your morning
coffee? A cluttered and vibrant series of
3-D images of brands, data and social media
overlay on the room, changing the entire
landscape of the kitchen. The implications are
endless, as Matsuda explained, illustrated by
another short, Augmented City.
