Recycling Plastic Bags Recycling plastic bags can be a hassle, especially because many curbside haulers and recycling facilities do not accept them, but there is an easy solution just down the road! Most recycling facilities are set up to handle predominately rigid (hard) materials that are easier to separate using machinery (i.e. aluminum cans, glass bottles, plastic containers, metal cans, cardboard/paper, etc.). They generally don’t accept soft items like plastic bags, wrap, and film. It’s not that these items can’t be recycled into new materials – they simply require a different collection system and processing equipment than many curbside recycling programs provide. Despite the extra step it takes to recycle these items, doing so is very easy! Many grocery stores have collection containers at their entrances to collect and recycle plastic bags. Along with plastic bags, these bins also accept plastic newspaper sleeves, dry cleaning bags, bread bags, product wrap (used on paper towels, diapers, bathroom tissue, etc.), food storage bags, produce bags, bubble wrap, LDPE/HDPE films, and any film packaging or bag that has the How2Recyc HX[ۂ[HXXY X\H[Y[X\XXHۛHPS[H\XYܘ\[[K[œ[[ݙHXZ\܈[H\][\˂[Y]X^HY[HX[ XX[œٝ\X[[ܙYXH[\ܝ[H\B][\ٝ[[Z\^H\]\^\˜[X[\Z[[YK\ܝ\[Xœ\[\[Y[[YH][ۋ[ۙ]\\X]\YܘY\[[][H[[ ] ]\܈X[ܙ]\\HXXYٝ\X[HXYB[]\XY܈\XY[]œXZH\X[X\\Y܈X[\[\^Yܛ[\]Z\Y[ [\\ˈ[Y][ۋ\X[Y[H\Y܈ܘYܙX]H\\\]\ [][Y\[X]܈HY[\˂܈[ܙH[ܛX][ۈX]XX[\X˜Y˜\Xٚ[\XX[˛ܙ˂\\Έ\XXZH]XK\\[BY\H]]ܚ]B[^[H\XH[ MXXY˘H
