SEARCH FOR THE ELF ON THE SHELF We’ve already kicked off Elf on the Shelf season, but the fun continues when you visit the Youth Services Department to hunt for the elf! Discover what he is reading and enter a drawing for a gift basket to be drawn on December 21. TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY AND HOLIDAY PARTY Sunday, Dec. 2, 6 p.m. Join us at the library for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Holiday Party, held in partnership with the Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department. Festivities will include lighting the Township tree outside at 6 p.m., followed by caroling. We will have refreshments, visits with Santa, and crafts for children in the library. It’s a wonderful way to get in the holiday spirit and spend time with family and friends! MUSIC FROM A CIVIL WAR CHRISTMAS Sunday, Dec. 9, 1:30 to 3 p.m. Join us to welcome back the folk group “Acoustic Shadows of the Blue and Gray”. This is an excellent opportunity to listen to songs as they would have been authentically played during the Civil War. Dressed in period uniforms, the group performs a repertoire of songs not often heard and gives chance for a sing-along with the band. Walt Klorczyk, facilitator of the Civil War Round Table, brings this popular Civil War holiday program to the Peters Township Community. GINGERBREAD HOUSE DECORATING Sunday, Dec. 2, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. It’s a tradition – the annual gingerbread house decorating following the Peters Township tree lighting. The whole family can create a sweet treat to take home and display. EDIBLE HOLIDAY TREATS Monday, Dec. 17, 6:30 to 7 p.m. Learn how to make simple edible treats you can enjoy over the holidays. Take home what you make or sample them as you go. JUBILEE RINGERS Tuesday, Dec. 4, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Presented by: The Trinity Bell Choir of Trinity United Methodist Church CHRISTMAS TREE RAFFLE The Lexington Court Garden Club is creating a decorated Christmas Tree that the library will raffle off this holiday season. This year’s theme is a Sugar Plum tree. Raffle tickets are available at the Circulation Desk for $2 each or 3 for $5. See the decorated tree in the library lobby. We will pick the lucky winner before Christmas. Join us for a relaxing hour of beautiful holiday bell music. FREE HOLIDAY GIFT WRAPPING Come and get your holiday gifts wrapped for FREE by our Teen Volunteers! Please bring a non-perishable food item for the food bank in exchange for the wrapping. Limit 3 gifts per person. We will have all the wrapping materials – just bring your gifts each in a box and with tags. We will also make cards to send to our military friends who will not be home for the holidays.
