PTHS PRESENTS ‘BYE
BYE BIRDIE’
Peters Township High School’s Troupe
185 presented “Bye Bye Birdie” as its
spring musical this year. Shows took place
March 15-18. The musical was a great
production, perfect for all ages.
When the military draft selected
rock star Conrad Birdie, his fans were
devastated, but none more than struggling
songwriter Albert Peterson, whose song
Birdie was just about to record. Peterson’s
longtime girlfriend, Rosie, pushed him to
write a new tune for Birdie to perform on
television to a lucky fan before shipping
out. The scheme worked, with young
Ohio teenager Kim McAfee declared the
winning fan, but no one counted on the
jealous wrath of her boyfriend.
