Kindergarten
Preschool-aged children who will attend a Norwin Kindergarten
in the fall enjoyed the second of three “Young Knights” interactive
family sessions the evening of Thursday, February 22, 2018.
Children learned concepts of print and ways that parents
can help their child build independence. Adults in attendance
learned the skills young children need to have to be successful in
Kindergarten.
The sessions were presented by Norwin Kindergarten teachers
and several local pre-schools. Families who have a child preparing
to enter kindergarten in the 2018-2019 school year are welcome
to attend the Young Knights transition program provided by the
Norwin School District.
Norwin School District began registering children for the 2018-
2019 kindergarten classes starting February 5, 2018. Parents were
able to schedule a registration appointment, which will occur
in March at the elementary building where the child will attend
kindergarten. During the registration appointment, the child will
meet with school personnel and the parent/guardian will meet
with a registration secretary to review paperwork and complete
the registration process.
Children must reside within School District boundaries and
be five years of age before September 1, 2018, to be eligible for
kindergarten.
Questions regarding the registration process may be directed
to the building secretary or principal in any Norwin elementary
school. If a family is unsure which elementary school a child will
attend, they may go onto the Norwin School District Web page
at www.norwinsd.org, navigate to the Department tab, scroll
down and click on Transportation, then click on the Alphabetical
Street Listings and Boundary Map for Elementary School
