More than 140 people joined the FR Panther Foundation for the first Festival of the Arts on March 30th. Event sponsors were Metz Culinary, First Commonwealth Bank, and Lynn & Patrick Gurrentz. The evening featured fine and performing arts from FR students in elementary school through high school. It also showcased the talent of many professional artists during an exhibit and silent art auction. An array of delicious food was offered along with a raffle of 16 themed baskets containing donations of goods, services, and gift certificates from local businesses. Student musicians and singers offered a variety of performances throughout the venue and FRSH art students designed hand- made clothing creations that were featured during a student fashion show. The event showcased a variety of art renderings including painting, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, drawings, 3D & 2D art, fashion, music, and media arts. The event raised $5,800 for the FR Panther Foundation, a non- profit organization dedicated to supporting Franklin Regional’s academic, art, and athletic programs through grants.
