Every week that goes by gives us another reason to celebrate as a school and as a community. We are FR proud! In particular, we are proud that FR is one of 447 schools districts in the United States and Canada to earn placement on the Annual AP District Honor Roll. This reflects the dedication and hard work put forth by our students, staff, and families. In this issue of IN-Murrysville, we celebrate an FRSH student who achieved perfect scores on the SAT and ACT, welcome our inductees into the National Honor and National Spanish Honor Societies, honor the 2017-18 Excellence Award winner, learn about the Flutter Program, and congratulate the Invention Convention winners. These are just a few of the many highlights that have transpired since our last issue of IN-Murrysville. We are delighted to be able to share these wonderful stories with you! The District continues to progress with the Elementary Campus Building and Renovation project, which will renovate the existing Sloan Elementary School to house grades K-2 and create a new Intermediate Elementary School for students in grades 3-5. The project has been directed by the district’s educational vision. As part of the new design, students will enjoy Innovation Centers, STREAM classrooms, performing and visual art centers and a host of other enhancements that will help our teachers deliver innovative educational programming to every child. To learn more about the project, please visit the District’s website at www.franklinregional. k12.pa.us and click on the button in the left column under Quick Links marked Construction/Renovation Projects. As the end of another school year quickly approaches, I want to thank each of you for your ongoing support of FR! We truly value the three communities we serve, and we will continue our commitment to to make FR a world-class educational system for generations of Panthers to come. Yours in education, Dr. Gennaro R. Piraino, Jr. Superintendent of Schools
