With high aspirations of performing all over the world , these Murrysville twins will always have a special place in their hearts for family and community .

Murrysville ’ s Edwards twins never suspected they ’ d one day be on national television in the quarterfinals of one of television ’ s most popular shows . “ We ’ ve been performing all our lives ,” says Colton . “ It ’ s crazy to think we went from performing at Apple Hill Playhouse in Delmont to the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles !”

Colton and Trent Edwards , 17 , are the sons of Kevin and Gia Edwards and the younger brothers of Kevin Edwards , Jr . Prior to the show , they attended Franklin Regional High School and both are currently juniors at Westinghouse Arts Academy .
The twins have always loved to sing , act and dance , and began pursuing their passions on the Apple Hill Playhouse stage . “ Performing at Apple Hill really helped us to become comfortable with performing on stage and in front of people ,” says Trent . The two also performed in high school musicals at FRHS .
“ We absolutely love to entertain !” says Colton . “ For ‘ America ’ s Got Talent ,’ we wanted to come up with something really unique .”
And so the duo decided on a singing and dancing act called Mirror Image . “ The name ‘ Mirror Image ’ actually came from a funny story ,” recalls Trent . “ We were staying at a hotel and Colton and my dad went down to the gym — we were 9 years old at the time . The gym wall was covered in mirrors and Colton looked at one of the mirrors and said ‘ Hey Trent ! What are you doing here ?’ True story !” The boys really are mirror twins , meaning they have physical characteristics that are the same but on opposite sides .
Advancing to the quarterfinals of the show , the duo sang Queen ’ s “ Somebody to Love ” and then danced to Bell Biv DeVoe ’ s “ Poison ” and Kriss Kross ’ “ Jump .” They received a standing ovation from all three judges in this round , but didn ’ t receive enough votes to advance further in the competition .
Colton and Trent plan to continue their music careers . They released their first single —“ From Many Men ”— in December . Since then , they have written and produced four other singles that will be released in the near future .
While continuing to study voice , dance and theater at Westinghouse Arts Academy , they also take dance classes at Appolonia Leake Dance Company with Appolonia Leake and Miranda Maleski . Both plan to attend college at some point , but are undecided on a major . “ In addition to the arts , we ’ re strong in math and science ,” notes Trent .

In June 2017 , Mirror Image debuted on “ America ’ s Got Talent .” The boys worked with Jerome Kirkland on music production and to come up with harmonies for the show . “ He is amazingly talented , and we couldn ’ t have done it without him !” they say .
The duo attended the open call auditions in Ohio . “ Our parents agreed to take us as a birthday gift ,” explains Trent . “ We honestly didn ’ t think we had a chance after meeting the amazing talent that showed up to audition that day .”
Though nervous , as soon as they hit the stage , the twins were ready to perform . Their audition consisted of singing The Jackson 5 ’ s “ Who ’ s Lovin ’ You ” following a dance to The Black Eyed Peas song “ Pump It .” Moving on to the Judge Cuts round , they sang “ California Dreamin ’” by The Mamas & The Papas and danced to Sia ’ s “ The Greatest .”
“ But we ’ re so loving the entertainment industry ! We ’ re not quite sure where things will take us , but we can ’ t wait to find out !”
Recently , the duo has been asked to participate in the WYEP 91.3 FM Reimagination Project . They will record a single at the Church Recording Studio and perform it this summer at the Pittsburgh music and arts festival .
With high aspirations of performing all over the world , these Murrysville twins will always have a special place in their hearts for family and community . “ We wouldn ’ t be anywhere if it wasn ’ t for our family ,” says Colton . “ We have the most amazing parents and they have always supported us in following our dreams and passions .”
