SUPPORT THE WESTMORELAND HERITAGE TRAIL WITH A BEER !
The Westmoreland Heritage Trail now has its own beer ! Rivertowne Brewing Company of Export offers Heritage Trail Pale Ale , a traditional pale ale enhanced by a secret spice . Rivertowne brewers Dale Walters and Aaron Zak developed the ale ( with trail volunteers as obliging tasters ), and graphic designer Allison Pittier and photographer Tanya McAndrew teamed with local trail supporters to design the label for its cans . The label features an image of a bridge over Turtle Creek holding the restored Pennsy caboose , now situated in Export . Cans also feature a tribute to trails : Whether they were Native American footpaths , farm roads , old military routes or railway lines , many of the great recreational trails of today reveal the area ’ s heritage . Rivertowne salutes all those who keep and use trails today , and all those who came before to contribute to a trail ’ s history . Rivertowne donates a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Heritage Trail Pale Ale to our local recreational railtrail , the Westmoreland Heritage Trail . The ale is available on tap and at many area distributors , with its availability expanding every week . Ask for it by name — you will enjoy it even more knowing that it supports the Westmoreland Heritage Trail !
