celebrates
9th annual
Village for
Kids
T
he ninth annual Village for Kids brought families to Renziehausen Park
one day before the official kickoff of McKeesport’s International Village.
The Lions Bandshell was hopping with free games, activities and food for
children of all ages on August 14.
“I’m not only excited because another fun year is here, but because of
how strong the support is after nine years,” co-chair Alison Piccolino said.
“The upbeat atmosphere of the day is contagious and is evident in every
single person and activity throughout the day. I continue to be honored to
be a part of such a wonderful day for the kids in the Mon Valley.”
The event is sponsored by the McKeesport Healthier Community
PartnerSHIP’s Youth Logic Model in partnership with state Sen. James
R. Brewster, the McKeesport Hospital
Foundation, McKeesport Collaborative,
Human Service Center, Mon Valley
Providers Council, Auberle, Mayor
Michael Cherepko and the McKeesport
International Village Committee. Each year,
agencies from across McKeesport and the
Mon Valley do their part by hosting free
activities and crafts for families.
