He currently works as an Aviation Safety Consultant. 2017 Hall of Fame Inductees Named A total of eight Hampton High School graduates who excelled in a variety of sports were inducted into the 2017 Hampton Athletic Hall of Fame. A dinner reception will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Wildwood Country Club, located at 2195 Sample Road in Allison Park. The 2017 Hall of Famers are: Robert Bosilovic, Kristen Everhart (Lawler), Sean Hennessey, Herb Ludwig, James Miller, Blake Moores, Jordan Paskorz and Melanie Schaffer. The eight athletes were also recognized during the pre-game ceremony at the Sept. 15 football game against Moon. Joshua Cable HTSD Welcomes New Building Principals The Hampton Township School District welcomes to the team Joshua Cable and Michael Silbaugh. At the August 7 meeting, the Board of School Directors unanimously approved Cable as the Assistant Principal at Hampton High School. Cable’s effective date of hire was August 1. He is replacing Dr. Stephen Pellathy, who resigned in June. Cable previously served as an assistant principal and social studies teacher with Colleton County High School in Walterboro, S.C., from July 2009 through June 2017. He also has experience in a STEM School within a School Model, Project-Based Learning and developing positive cultures of learning. With his background as an assistant principal at Colleton County High School, he exhibited a sound decision-making framework based upon the law and best practices for high school administration. He possesses a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Purdue University, Calumet. “It is an honor to be joining the Hampton High School staff,” says Cable. “Coming from a one-to-one, project-based learning environment, I am excited to be involved in the Digital Transformation the District is undertaking. It is going to add a new avenue of learning and engagement for our students.” The Board also unanimously approved the appointment of Michael Silbaugh as the Assistant Principal at Hampton Middle School. He is filling the former role of Marlynn Lux, who was appointed by the Michael Silbaugh Board of School Directors to serve as the HMS Principal on June 12. Silbaugh previously served as the Assistant Principal at Pine Richland High School from May 2012 to present. He holds a Level II Permanent Administrative Certificate and a master’s degree of science in curriculum and instruction from St. Vincent’s College. He is working toward a doctoral degree with Gannon University. “I am extremely honored to be part of the Hampton Township School District,” says Silbaugh. “I look forward to collaborating with staff and community members to meet the needs of the students and carry on Hampton’s tradition of excellence. Engaging in the work to ensure Hampton’s vision for innovat ive teaching and learning will be an exciting opportunity for my professional growth, which in turn will have an impact on the growth of our educational community as a whole.” Silbaugh will be starting his new position at HMS on October 9. Dr. Roberta Good – who has been serving as Acting Assistant Principal since June 2016— will graciously continue serving the Middle School in that capacity until Silbaugh’s arrival. “I am really looking forward to working with Mr. Silbaugh,” says Lux. “He not only comes with a lot of administrative experience, but he also is very passionate and excited to work with middle school students.” Hampton | Fall 2017 | icmags.com 47
