Fundraiser Helps GSMS Students Earn $ 94,000 for College
Greensburg Salem Middle School students collectively earned $ 94,000.00 in college tuition earlier this year by participating in the Great American fundraising program to raise money for building activities and assemblies . Great American has a unique way of encouraging families to sell … by offering college tuition as an incentive .
By selling $ 100 worth of products , a student could earn a $ 1000.00 certificate for college tuition . If $ 250 worth of products were sold , $ 2500.00 in credit was rewarded . Tuition credit can be utilized at over 375 colleges and universities , including Seton Hill University , Saint Vincent College , Duquesne University , and Robert Morris University . What a unique way to help GS families pay for the rising cost of college !

GS Students Take Center Stage in District Musicals reensburg Salem GREENSBURG SALEM SCHOOL DISTRICT NEWS
Talented Greensburg Salem students took to the stage to perform two outstanding musicals , showcasing the performing arts skills of some of the district ’ s finest .
Record crowds packed the high school auditorium for one of the most popular and original musicals of all time , “ Grease ,” based on the book , music , and lyrics of Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey . Under the direction of Sue Glowa , the 80-member cast launched the audience back in time with nostalgic hits such as “ Summer Nights ,” “ Born to Hand-Jive ,” and “ You ’ re the One That I Want .” The classic romance story of Danny Zuko , played by Tristan Elma , and Sandy Dumbrowski , performed by Nicole Fandel , rocked the stage , leaving the crowds wowed by the talents of the show ’ s leads , as well as the T-Birds , Pink Ladies , and supporting cast and crew .
Greensburg Salem Middle School students brought Cinderella , Little Red Riding Hood , Jack and his Beanstalk , the Witch , and all of our other favorite fairytale characters to life presenting the musical “ Into the Woods , Jr .” The young GSMS performers belted out tunes as if on Broadway , singing such scores as “ Hello , Little Girl ,” “ Maybe They ’ re Magic ,” and “ Agony .” Mrs . Melanie Callas and Dr . Alaine Nativio directed and produced the school ’ s musical , leading a cast and crew of over 60 students .
