Our Summer Reading Program kicks off on
Saturday, June 3. We will have programs
for all ages from infants through adults!
Children who register during the first week
(June 3 through 10) will be eligible for a
chance to win a gift card.

Wednesdays in June at 10:30 a.m. (June 7, 14,
21 & 28)
Move with us in the Welcome Garden! We
will dance, hula hoop and more to use up
some of that extra energy! For preschool-age

Chess Skills Workshop
June 12 to 16, 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Introductory to intermediate chess players
are welcome in this workshop where we
will learn about a different part of the game
each day. Price: $80 for the full week. Grades
K through 5.
Chess Camp for Kids
June 12 to 16, 1 to 4 p.m.
Learn to play chess or improve your game in
this half-day camp. Activities will be tailored
to each student’s playing strength. Price:
$120 for the full week. Grades K through 5.
Beads & More with Judith Stone
June 17 at 10:30 a.m. and July 15 at 2 p.m.
Create one-of-a-kind jewelry to wear or give
as gifts. Grades 3 through 5.
Mini–Masterpieces
Thursday, June 22, 6:30 p.m.
Create a mixed media masterpiece on a mini
canvas. You can use paint, Sharpies, washi
tape or other materials. Grades 3 through 5.

STEAM Young Architects
Friday, June 23, at 11 a.m.
Inspired by Andrea Beaty’s book “Iggy Peck
Architect,” we will create some original
architecture of our own. We will utilize art,
math and science as we create, problem
solve and build together. Pre-K to 3rd grade.
The Lost Ladybug Project
Monday, June 26, at 6:30 p.m.
Did you know that there is more than one
kind of ladybug? But some of them are
disappearing. Learn how to be a ladybug
citizen scientist! Appropriate for school-aged
children through adult.
Tween Book Café
Monday, June 26, and Monday, July 31
Enjoy pizza and treats while we have a fun
book discussion. June’s book is “Wonder” by
R. J. Palacio. Grades 4 through 6.
Building Challenges
Friday, June 30, at 2 p.m.
Test your engineering skills by building
structures out of various materials including
Magnatiles, Lincoln Logs and recyclable
items. Grades 3 through 5.
Pre-K STEM Storytimes
Wednesdays in July at 10:30 a.m. (July 5, 12,

A fantastic new interactive story time! After
we read books, children and parents can
explore hands-on STEAM stations. Each is a
new topic.
Build a Better World with Alison
Monday, July 17, at 6 p.m.
How do we build a better world? With
kindness? With cooperation? Hear folktales
about working together. Listen and laugh
and eat pizza in the Welcome Garden. All

fairy garden, a wizard school or a gnome
home. Bring some of your own mini toys
and supplies or use supplies provided
by Farm & Forest* to make your creation.

the Carnegie Science Center

Complete the tower challenge and
make predictions about your beam and

Edible Architecture
Friday, July 28, at 2 p.m.
Build it, then eat it! We will challenge you to
create various objects with edible materials
such as candy, marshmallows and pretzels.

Teddy Bear Picnic
Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 10:30 a.m.
Ms. Susan will entertain us in the Welcome
Garden with stories and songs about bears.
Bring your bear and a bag lunch. We’ll
provide drinks and cookies.
Summer Reading Party
Saturday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m.
All readers completing the reading program
and their families are welcome to attend the
end of summer reading celebration! We’ll
have food, entertainment and fun! Raffle
prizes will be awarded.
