Three of her six paintings of mobile homes in the show were awarded a Best of Show Prize from juror Freyda Spira (Associate Curator in the Department of Drawings and Prints at the Metropolitan Museum of Art) in 2015. The award was made for her series of six paintings during the Three Rivers Arts Festival 2015 (the theme that summer: Unseen/Unheard). The Cooper-Siegel Community Library, whose mission is to cultivate a community of lifelong learners, opened the 403 Fox Chapel Rd. location in 2011. The library specifically serves about 30,000 residents in communities that make up the Fox Chapel Area School District: Aspinwall, Blawnox, Fox Chapel, Indiana, O’Hara and Sharpsburg as well as all Allegheny County residents. The Executive Director of Cooper-Siegel Library is Jill McConnell. Artist exhibits in the Cooper-Siegel Community Library were added two years ago and they are scheduled and managed by library volunteer Kathleen Wendell, formerly of Heinz History Center. GREYBROOKE GARDEN CLUB MEETING AND VENDOR MARKET Greybrooke Garden Club will host a Joint Meeting and Vendor Market on Wednesday, Nov. 8, in the Fellowship Hall of Parkwood United Presbyterian Church located at 4289 Mt. Royal Boulevard in Allison Park. The highlight of the meeting will be a presentation by Steve Piskor— Phipps/Penn State Master Gardener and Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturist— entitled, “Cool Tools and Other Stuff for the Gardener.” The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. with opportunity for all to tour the Vendor Market before and after the program. THE PITTSBURGH CONCERT CHORALE 2017-2018 SEASON Pittsburgh Concert Chorale’s 2017- 2018 concert schedule offers a varied sampling of music from around the globe. Upcoming Concerts: • Sounds of the Season, the annual holiday concert, will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, and 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at Ingomar United Methodist Church; and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church. PCC presents holiday classics, traditional carols and popular favorites. • Bella Musica! celebrates classical masterpieces rich in Italian heritage. Concertgoers will hear samples of the repertoire that the PCC will perform for their July Italy tour. Concerts are at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church; and 4 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at Ingomar United Methodist Church. • The season wraps up in May with Hooray for Hollywood! featuring cinematic hits, past and present. PCC again welcomes Bryan Sable, pianist; Justin Bendel, bassist; and Robert Rawsthorne, drummer; for these performances.
