Junior John ( J . P .) Cantwell was declared 2017 Mr . Carlynton in a pageant held April 22 . The annual event drew surprise and laughter as contestants rivaled to capture a gold medal in a competition skewed on an Olympic theme . Participants put on game faces to flaunt a talent or skill , guess the answers to trivia questions about past Olympians and display a flair for fashion . Seniors Brandon Cantley , Stuart Dougherty , Adam Follmer , Will Ford , Collin Fox , Ian Kobistek , Jordan Lange , Barry Lewellyn , Logan Witwicki and juniors John Cantwell , Ian Gallagher , Logan Niehoff and Kolyn Schneider were introduced during a parade of nations , waving flags of various countries . During a formalwear competition , the boys , with escorts , swaggered across the stage sporting tuxedos , graciously donated for the evening by Men ’ s Wearhouse . In the closing ceremony , judges ( teachers Michelle Dzurenda , Anthony

Istik , Michael Kozy , Lindsey Smith and Matt Stagl ) tallied scores to declare J . P . as the gold medal winner . Stuart Dougherty was dubbed Mr . Congeniality , nominated by the contestants , and Collin Fox won People ’ s Choice Award by popular vote . Proceeds from the event benefitted the junior and senior classes . Mrs . Tracy Post , teacher and senior class sponsor , organized the event with the help of class officers and volunteers . Mr . Carlynton pageant s opened with a hilarious choreographed dance that was anything but graceful . s
