T.J. Ameredes has been welcomed
into the neighborhood.
A graduate of the West Virginia University School of Dentistry, T.J.
Ameredes, DDS, began his dental career as an associate practitioner in
well-established corporate practices.
After spending several years in associateships, Ameredes recognized
the lack of opportunities he would have if he continued down a
corporate path, igniting a desire to create a new path for himself in the
dental industry.
“The more I practiced, the more time I had to think about the vision
I wanted for my own practice: how I wanted to treat my patients, the
experience I wanted to create for them and the experience I wanted to
create for myself and my employees,” Ameredes said.
With this vision in mind, Ameredes and his wife decided that
Pittsburgh was the ideal location for their practice and for raising
a family. They scoured the region for the right spot and settled in
Oakdale, purchasing an existing dental office with 40 years of serving
the community’s dental needs.
Comprehensive Practice
From basic dentistry to full-mouth rehabilitation cases, Advanced
Dentistry is an office designed to handle every unique patient on an
individual basis. The mission of the practice is to provide quality care
to patients of any age and to offer those patients multiple avenues to
best suit their needs, all while creating an environment where each
patient is made to feel comfortable with their dental care. “Our job is to
diagnose each patient and to give that patient a plan to improve their
oral health based on their needs, wants, and finances.”
Advanced Dentistry is a practice that offers Implant Dentistry,
Pediatric Dentistry, Oral Surgery, Endodontics, Orthodontics and
Cosmetic Dentistry, with all services having the option of sedation.
The practice is also listed as a Preferred Invisalign Provider in the area.
Ameredes is striving for a practice that offers patients a “one-stop shop”
in dental services.
Cutting-Edge Technology
“From a health perspective, I want my patients to know that the
equipment and technology in the office is for their benefit, so together
we can focus on prevention and take a more proactive approach to
dental care,” Ameredes said.
Advanced Dentistry is equipped with a CBCT Planmeca ProMax 3D,
which complies with a multitude of diagnostic requirements: those
of implantology, endodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, dental
and maxillofacial surgery, and TMJ analysis. It is also an excellent
tool for diagnosing sleep apnea, along with ear, maxillary sinus and
respiratory tract diseases. Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT)
is a game changer when it comes to dental radiographic imaging,
allowing greater understanding of patients and moving imaging
beyond pure diagnosis to include planned treatment simulations and
image-guided treatments. The office also uses a TRIOS scanner to take
impressions that would otherwise be completed with an impression
material.
A Community Service
This neighborhood-feel community aligned with Ameredes’
professional and personal values, as he wanted to establish himself
as a respected member of the community and make patients feel
welcomed in his practice.
On January 2016, Advanced Dentistry opened its 40-year-
old doors once again to the Western PA community, and began
comprehensively treating patients of all ages and needs under new
ownership. Since then, it already is ahead of schedule in terms of
meeting projections, and is growing its patient base every day.
“This is the biggest thing I’ve ever done and I’m putting everything
I have into it,” Ameredes said. “With this experience and working with
our patients, there is no telling what the future holds.”
