The 199‑year‑old LeMoyne House is Pennsylvania’s first
National Historic Landmark of the Underground Railroad. Only
a few other such sites exist in the entire United States. The house
was built in 1812 by John Julius LeMoyne, the father of Francis
Julius LeMoyne. Why not visit this national landmark and learn
about the fascinating man who risked everything by allowing his
stately stone house to be a stop on the Underground Railroad?

Imagine yourself in the footsteps of the very first Americans,
standing where they stood 16,000 years ago and using ancient
technology to live off the land. Meadowcroft Rockshelter, a
National Historic Landmark, features 16,000‑year‑old evidence
of the region’s earliest inhabitants under a massive rock
overhang. In addition to the rockshelter, the site is also home
to three outdoor historic areas, including a 16th century Indian
village, 18th century Frontier Trading Post, and 19th century
village that help visitors experience life over the past 500 years.

Mt. Lebanon is such a beautiful community full of charming
historic architecture. Find out some of the stories behind the
charm on a tour by the experts! The local historical society
conducts tours relating to the architecture and history of Mt.
Lebanon. They can be given to private groups like reunion
classes or family gatherings, or regularly scheduled tours are
shown on the event calendar. Past tours include Commerce
and Architecture—a walking tour along Washington Road, and
Saints and Stained Glass—a guided tour of St. Bernard and Mt.

Presley Neville house, is southwestern Pennsylvania’s principal
link to the late 18th century, interpreting the time period of
1780‑1825 and documenting the lives of the three families
that resided there, the Nevilles (1775‑1815), the Cowans
