SPONSORED CONTENT BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT SPONSORED CONTENT KUDLA’S SERVICE CENTER Modern Convenience, Old-Fashioned Service F or more than six decades, Kudla’s Service Center has been a dependable, honest and friendly neighbor in the Bethel Park community, giving residents a place for everything from gasoline and car repairs to late-night snacks and coffee for the morning commute. Second-generation owner Henry Kudla says that while local, independent gas stations are “dinosaurs” in today’s world of big corporate chains, offering customers quality service at a fair price is more important to everyday people. “Service is key. My dad and uncle started this business based on offering great service and that’s what we’ve focused on ever since,” he explains. In 1957, Kudla’s Service Center was a two-bay gas station in the heart of Bethel Park. Over the years, it’s grown to a seven- bay repair facility with a convenience store and five full-time technicians working six days a week, including a member of the third generation of the family, Dan Kudla. Henry’s brother, Mark, manages the on-site convenience store. “At one point, we had 11 family members here all working together,” Kudla notes. “We have 17 people overall on payroll. We’ve grown as Bethel Park’s grown, and we’ve adapted to give our customers what they’re looking for.” Some of those services include all state inspections and emissions work, propane filling service, and tire service with a full assortment of tires from names like Uniroyal, Hankook, Mastercraft and Cooper in stock and any other brand easily ordered for customers looking for something more specific. All of Kudla’s maintenance and service equipment is state of the art and updated frequently to meet the rising challenges in technology and design that today’s vehicles pose for technicians. What’s more, while some service stations look more like used car lots with backlogs of repairs, Kudla’s Service Center prides itself on being empty at the end of the day. “Barring any unforeseen circumstance, if we schedule your car, your car’s getting done by the end of the day, regardless of whether it’s an inspection, diagnostic, air conditioning or heating, suspension or exhaust problem,” Kudla says. “And you’ll always get an honest and fair price. You don’t last more than 60 years in this business if you’re not a straight shooter.” Kudla’s also prides itself on being a NAPA Autocare Center as well as an AC Delco Professional Service Center. It carries Marathon gasoline, and, if you’re really looking for old-fashioned service, it’s one of the last places around offering a full-service gasoline pump. Kudla’s location is adjacent to the local trolley line and the shop offers free local pickup and delivery, so you’ll never need to waste time in a waiting room while your vehicle is being worked on.
