B
ethel Park High School has multiple extracurricular
activities available for student participation. However,
this year will be the first time it’s had a dance team, and
the parents who’ve worked hard to get it approved say
it’s been a long time coming.
BPHS Dance Team Executive Board members Johanna Ewing,
President; Tracey Finn, Vice President; Jennifer Smith, Secretary;
and Karen Veith, Treasurer, came together last year, after two
previous attempts, to present their case for a BPHS Dance Team.

an opportunity to support their school through an activity
they’ve trained in for years,” explains Ewing. “It’s definitely been a
process but we are so excited it’s finally come to fruition.”
She says Bethel Park Superintendent Dr. Joseph Pasquerilla
and the school board heard their presentation in April and asked
them to develop a proposal and by-laws for consideration. “We
