I influence other by doing it myself” AGED 65-70 LOCAL HOUSEWIFE SINCE MARRIED LIVES IN KOWLOON TONG ACTIVELY AROUND LOK FU KNOWLEDGE • Very passionate in achieving zerowaste lifestyle • Recently through social media highlight has brought up his awareness, eg. return unused straw, bring his own shopping bag • Main source of information from TV news and newspapers • Knowledgeable about recycle bins color by a slogan promoted by HK government, and other campaigns which taught her tips on preparing recycle recycling items eg. wash bottle/cans, remove staples from magazine before recycling ACTION Waste disposal • Rarely dispose in regular garbage bin. • Makes great effort to reduce waste from source by bringing her own bottle, shopping bag and cutlery set Recycling • Recycles all sort of things including paper, plastic, metals, bottle glass, excessive clothing • Does extra preparation before recycle: remove staples from magazines, clean all bottle and cans • Avoid obtaining any single used items – plastic bags for umbrella, plastic cutlery, straws THINKING & FEELING • Self satisfaction is her main drive, it has become a daily habit for her • Hong Kong as a whole is not improving at all in past few decades in terms of people’s mentality and infrastructure and this makes her sad • Lack of respect from others as they think her actions are adding more workload to them for example mall staff who forced her to use the plastic umbrella cover and staff who refused to give her less proportion in fast food chain • Use herself as example for other people to follow but will not actively educate or influence others as she thinks she needs to respect other people’s lifestyle
