March Declared as Procurement Month

Governor Brian P. Kemp declared the month of March be designated as Procurement Month. As a result, a national awareness campaign to recognize all public procurement professionals across the nation for their efforts and contribution to the excellence in governmental procurement was launched. The Procurement Office of the Georgia Department of Corrections and Georgia Correctional Industries celebrated the National Procurement Month by acknowledging their procurement staff with certificates of achievement and appreciation and a luncheon was served.

Retiring After 42 Years, Hartley Leaves Legacy

Cliff Hartley began a career that would last for 42 years with Corrections in 1976 as a Probation Officer in the Augusta Judicial Circuit. Thereafter, Cliff held numerous leadership positions including: Intensive Probation Supervisor, Chief Probation Officer, Assistant Director of Offender Administration, Assistant Region Director to his last role as Transitional Services Field Services Manager. Hartley participated in the Atlanta Olympic Games coverage, GDC Statewide Security Threat Group, Hostage Negotiator and much more. He has completed 2,575 hours of certified training by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards among his many achievements in Corrections. Cliff will be truly missed and we wish him all the best.
