MyChart

[Ophthalmology] The MyChart EyeCare Center is now available. This feature will display eyeglass and contact lens prescription information to patients in MyChart. If prescription information is available, a new menu item will automatically appear for the patient.

Conversation Series

The final session will be held on Monday June 23rd at 5:00 pm ( Chevy Chase Auditorium/ Zayed 2119A) . Come and share what you have learn during these past few months. We would like to have volunteers sign up to present a 3-5 minutes vignette of what they learned or what they thought was a key moment to them from any/all of the speakers. Contact Dr. Fishman if you are interested in participating.

All Kiosk Locations

The photographs of 356 providers were moved in the Kiosk system. Upon check in at the Kiosk, patients will see a photograph of the provider if his or her appointment is scheduled with one of these providers. We will continue to grow our database of provider photos, in an effort to enhance the patient experience.

Radiology Procedures

[JHH] An additional 17 radiology procedures have been removed from orderable view based on harmonization determining they are not used at JHH or the clinics.

JHM Town Hall Meeting

Taking its cue from TV shows like “Morning Joe” and “The View,” the Johns Hopkins Medicine Town Meetings are using a new talk show-style format to engage staff in discussions about important strategic initiatives. At the next town meeting on Tuesday, June 17, from noon to 1 p.m. in Hurd Hall on the East Baltimore campus, learn about the Johns Hopkins Medicine Strategic Plan’s people priority.

Epic Emergency Prep

This August, the Department of Emergency Medicine and Department of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at The Johns Hopkins Hospital will convert to Epic, our new electronic medical record system. Emergency Department clinicians are leading a two-year effort to ensure a smooth rollout, including creating interfaces with the hospital’s other electronic medical record systems and making changes to improve processes across the Hopkins enterprise. Epic Build Pause

Epic will be installed for Suburban Hospital on July 1, 2014 and in the Johns Hopkins Hospital Emergency Departments on August 6, 2014. During this time, we must focus on ensuring a stable platform for the new user communities. Therefore, from May 15 through August 15 we will be selective about adding new features and content; we will continue to:

1. work on all patient safety related issues

2.resolve broken functionality (break-fixes)

3.add new reports implement scheduled Epic upgrades
