After all, with "Bound For The Floor" (also known as "that 'copacetic' song") in regular rotation on Chicago alternative radio for the last two decades, it's easy to still think of Local H as an alternative underdog duo. Jaime de'Medici talked to founder Scott Lucas about the reasons for their longevity, and success. 6 HELLO, MY NAME IS TODD One thing to expect when attending a Todd Rundgren show is that you will be presented with the unexpected. The Phillyborn and bred musical legend has also been known for his willingness to explore the unknown in his music, and to never be one that presents the same old same old. Despite being continually played on classic stations with a wealth of pop hits, Rundgren is always searching for musical worlds that are new and different. With his 25th solo album (not to mention another 11 albums recorded with The Nazz and Utopia, collectively), Rundgren returns with Global, a strange but infectious hybrid of modern day EDM and R&B flavored original songs that harken back to his classic '70s records. Bruce Pilato talked to the master. Page 22 - Local H File Frankie Knuckles film, Can't wait til summer comes. 20 Double Feature THE DAMNWELLS Untimely film finishes. Anyone who may have heard, seen, or been a fan of the The Damnwells from 2007 through the present hasn’t had the privilege of knowing the magic of the original foursome that formed in Brooklyn back in 2001. It’s "Americana" or "alt-country," for sure. It’s a touch of Midwestern rock, haunting but playful, sincere but also cynical. Penelope Biver talked to vocalist Alex Dezen about the reformation of the original line-up. Sweet Home A true blues movie. Media Harry's son flies solo.
