other places. Philadelphia is right on the
Mason-Dixon line (radio-wise), the dividing line between the North and the South.
The further South you went the less you
would hear R&B music on the radio
because it was considered "race" music;
and that meant music created and only
meant for Black people. So, we were fortunate enough to be in that sweet spot where
we would hear a lot of R&B on white radio
stations. That always meant a lot to me in
terms of music that touches you; and
