IICandM Accreditation Coach Accreditation Requirements Information | Page 2

IIC&M Accreditation is available for all coaches who want to demonstrate their quality through an internationally recognised coaching standard. Each coach – new or existing – will be awarded their accreditation when they have demonstrated that they meet the accreditation requirements established by the IIC&M.

The purpose of Accreditation is to:

re-inforce coaching as a professional industry.

demonstrate that, as an industry, coaching is able to validate its professionalism through the independent requirements defined in each accreditation level.

assure the individuals and organisations that are hiring coaches, that those coaches awarded an Accreditation have met or exceeded the accreditation requirements defined for that specific level of accreditation.

assure the individuals and organisations that are hiring coaches, that those coaches have been trained through an independently verified course or workshop which has been awarded an Accreditation level which demonstrates that they have met or exceeded the accreditation requirements defined for that specific level of course accreditation.

assure the students who are selecting a coach training course that the course has received an independent verification which has been awarded an Accreditation level which demonstrates that they have met or exceeded the accreditation requirements defined for that specific level of course accreditation.

The Accreditation process …

… is a rigorous process and one that ensures the acceptance only of those coaches that have the highest standards; and it is a matter of pride that the IIC&M will only accredit coaches that meet all our standards. Each coach meets the IIC&M’s Core Competencies and signs the Declaration of Integrity agreeing to abide by and uphold the IIC&M’s Standards and Ethics.

… is a three step process:

1. verification of your documentation

2. skills assessment with one of the IIC&M’s Skills Assessors

3. submission of your written requirements.

This document provides you with a high level summary of what is required to gain your accreditation. Further detailed information can be found in the Explanatory Notes. You will be provided with the specific information relevant to your accreditation application.

There are four ways in which every applicant can gain their accreditation:

1. No formal coach training.

2. Formally trained through one of the IIC&M's Accredited Level 5, Level 6, or Level 7 courses.

3. Formally trained through a non-IIC&M Accredited course.

4. Accredited or Credentialed through an IIC&M recognised Accreditation, Professional or Trade Body.

Each of these ways will be referenced in the explanations throughout this material.
