“It had always been a childhood dream of mine to explore the
natural wonders of South America, in particular the Galapagos
Islands. The lure of seeing giant tortoises, Marine Iguanas and
a vast array of other endemic wildlife species in this unique
ecosystem had me completely hooked. Like many zoologists,
conservationists and environmentalists before me, I felt
compelled to make a pilgrimage to the mecca of science, the
birthplace of the theory of evolution, the enchanted islands.”
