COMMON VENUE
The Fifth Common Venue round for the
year was fished on the 17th of August.
North Zone
Bad weather forced most of
the anglers to scratch for small
edible fish. Absolute AC caught
11.6 weight points for 3rd place.
NCAA again in the top 3 coming
in second place with 12.2 points.
Castaway AC “B” Team delivered
a good all round performance
landing 9 fish for 17.8 points for
1st place. Rudi Pretorius from
Umhlali AC ended tied for 2nd
with 5.0 points alongside Dion
Govender from NCAA. Paslene
Govender (Absolute AC) got the
vital 100 rank points with only 3
Common Venues to go with 7.0
points for the round.
South Zone
Horrible conditions on the south
coast with wind and rain from the
start of the competition right to
the end. Warnadoone AC fought
hard for 3rd place with only 7.8
points. Vikings AC did very well
with 11.4 points placing them in
2nd. But the top club yet again
in the south zone was Leviathan
AC with 18 points for a total of
12 fish. Hendrik Vorster from
Warnadoone AC managed 3rd
place with 5.2 points. Siva Pillay
(Vikings AC) caught 6.2 points
only 0.8 behind 1st place angler
Kris Pillay from Sharkfin AC with
7.0 points.
Lower South Coast
The lower south coast had a
good round with a fair amount
of fish caught. Tuna AC ended
3rd with 28.4 points. Marlin AC
did very well in weighing in 40.5
points. Hibiscus AC caught 24
fish for a total of 57.8 weight
points for first place. Hibiscus
AC member Ganas Naidoo
managed 12.4 points for 3rd
place. Gerry Rambaran from
Tuna AC caught 13.6 points for
2nd place. Dean Pretorius from
Marlin AC managed to get 1st
place with 14.2 weight points.
