POSTAL ROUND The 4th Postal Round was fished on the weekend of 17 to 19 May. This round saw the top 10 clubs all above the 100 point mark. 9 of the top 10 Clubs fished from Durban further North to the Cape Vidal area, but Tuna AC fished the lower South Coast and ended with a solid 154.9 weight points. Old Boys AC ended in 3rd place for the round with 256.4 weight points fishing the Durban area. In 2nd place we had Castaway AC managing 283.1 weight points and NCAA ended 1st with a massive 458.9 weight points with a total of 141 fish. NCAA’s Postal Round 5 was fished on the weekend of 19 to 21 July. A very poor round compared to the previous few rounds. Only 4 clubs managed to clear the 100 point mark and all 4 clubs fished the Zululand area. Round 5 saw the odd rounds coming to an end for the Postal Competitions and the 2 clubs that will be competing for the “McNab Cup” at the Postal Annual Meet is Benders AC and NCAA. NCAA won the round with 243.2 weight points followed by Castaway AC (2nd) with 207.6 weight points and Leviathan AC ending in 3rd place Dion Govender managed a total of 77.4 weight points coming in 3rd place. Sagie Naidoo from Nemesis AC finished on 90.3 weight points just missing out on first place with only 0.9 weight points separating top angler Morgan Lynch (NCAA) with 91.2 weight points. It was a very good round with a total of 876 fish caught in the union. The biggest edible was a GT of 15.7kg caught by Grant St. Clair Mulley and the biggest non edible was a Diamond Ray of 54.7kg caught by Gus Kaltebrun from Benders AC. with 194.5 weight points. Louis Allison from Leviathan AC finished the round in 3rd place individually with 59.2 weight points, Ravi Govenden (Hiawatha AC) caught an impressive Diamond Ray of 60.5kg which helped him to 66.2 weight points for the round securing a 2nd place. Nic McDonald from NCAA had an excellent round finishing 1st with 87.6 weight points. Dudley Macarthur caught a Rock Salmon of 11.0kg and Ravi Govenden caught a Diamond Ray of 60.5kg.
