WHY NOT PLAY ENGLISH HERITAGE MONOPOLY?
There are many versions of
monopoly out there and this
is just one of them but one
which you can adapt to fill your
holidays for years to come.
English Heritage Monopoly
is the classic board game of
Monopoly with each property
being a place owned by English
Heritage. You could just play
the game and say it is any other
version of Monopoly but it isn’t
if you take inspiration from it.
What about using this game as
14
IGNIS
a checklist for places you could
go to as part of your holiday?
To take up the challenge,
you need English Heritage
membership. you need to be
a determined sort of person
who is willing to brave the
elements and still be able to
enjoy themselves. This journey
is a long and expensive one
but it will take you all over the
country, offering you sights
and places you would never
have visited before without
the monopoly and Heritage
membership. It does involve
staying in lots of hotels and
driving long distances but it
all pays off when you arrive. It
is worth going to most places
when there is an event on so that
there is some action taking place
as well as what is already there.
Some places are so big that you
need to visit more than once like
Dover Castle. It is a different style
of holiday but it is an enjoyable
and amazing way to spend your
time instead of just staying at
home or just going somewhere
for two weeks to only see the
same sorts of things.
We have been doing this for two
years and it is almost a shame
we didn’t know about this when
I was younger. We have never
been out so much before and
been so interested in the history
of our country. We have been to
over twenty properties in two
years which is more days out
than we did before that time in
the same sort of period. With
the Monopoly nearly finished,
we have also started doing the
Top Trumps. Take inspiration
from games to go out and about
to see the best of our country.
English Heritage certainly made
my weekends more interesting
so hopefully it will do the same
to yours.
