If strict UK regulations and the use of drones for criminal activities leave you feeling a bit flat, don’t be, the future of drone technology is bright. Drone photography in particular is leading the way to view the world in new and exciting ways. In 2014 Eric Cheng flew a drone over a hot lava field in Iceland. What he considered to be “a pretty small niche, you know, drone volcano photography” went viral, gaining over 1.4 million hits. In 2015 he went back to the Holuhraun lava field in a snowy Iceland and created some astounding footage. In this talk from November 2015 he shows how far we can take current drones.
