If strict UK regulations and
the use of drones for criminal
activities leave you feeling a
bit flat, don’t be, the future of
drone technology is bright. Drone
photography in particular is
leading the way to view the world
in new and exciting ways. In 2014
Eric Cheng flew a drone over a
hot lava field in Iceland. What he
considered to be “a pretty small
niche, you know, drone volcano
photography” went viral, gaining
over 1.4 million hits. In 2015 he
went back to the Holuhraun
lava field in a snowy Iceland
and created some astounding
footage. In this talk from
November 2015 he shows how far
we can take current drones.
