In the penitentiary where we were waiting for the sentences , the inmates could watch football games on TV . We learned about the CHTV broadcast by an inmate of another prison detachment , who recognized us and showed solidarity without concealing his astonishment by the willy-nilly repercussion of the case . Nobody who knew about the incident believed us . They told us that , at least , we had robbed or broken the bus , or we were hiding a bigger tragedy . In the prison courtyard , we met another inmate convicted to only two years for breaking the bus windows and even another one sentenced to three years for a serious injury caused during a scuffle on a bus . We did not understand . Our faces were the only thing broken that night , due to the impact of fists and boots . And we were the only ones seriously injured . Two days after the trial , we were transferred to Canaleta Prison ( Matanzas Province ). There we learned , two months later , that the judge presiding our trial and her auxiliary staff were involved in illegal actions and ended up being sanctioned .
