qualities what is essentially to be understood : each of the natural or acquired features that distinguish people from animals and things , then it would have to start with : a ) suppressing the political morning meetings in the schools , b ) hiring teachers who are morally and intellectually capable of building qualities , ( c ) teaching its own officials the first lesson based on the maxim that in order to teach how to say the truth , one must first learn how to hear it . Because precisely from the simple fact of telling the truth and facing it , one must start to recover the lost honesty , dignity , self-esteem , civility , respectful consideration to the neighbor and all the other good qualities that a cyclone totalitarian State has torn up by the roots from our people . Pretense and lie have been imposed as irremediable standards of survival and they have ended up altering the Cubans ’ idiosyncrasy . It could almost be said that they are already part of our identity profile . We choose to pretend and lie as a natural expression at any moment and circumstances . And I do not think that the government can do something important to build good qualities in the children , if its officials have joyfully disregard the good qualities during most of their working lives . Confucius taught three ways for learning and gaining wisdom : reflection , imitation , and experience . The Cuban revolution leaders have always superimposed guile over wisdom and turned the Confucianism into confusion , by imparting only the imitation with false patterns . Thusly , they were entangling the socioeconomic mogolla ( complicated situation ) to the point where , at his time , they wouldn ´ t be able to untangle it even with the wise help of Confucius .
