In his attempt to recognize the black presence and its contributions to the regional history in Latin American and Caribbean , Freixa provides historically conclusive evidence and testimonies . Our team believes that this line of work on the African presence in Latin America is not only enriching contributions to our magazine , but also significant historical materials that are not available in Cuba and , through Identities , become of great importance for expanding the scope of the struggles and the chances of success by the Cubans .
