Amcor implements the HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press

Amcor, a leading global flexible packaging supplier headquartered in Switzerland, has installed an HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press, in its Ghent, Belgium facility, to provide digitally printed packaging on a wide range of flexible materials.

Amcor was one of the first flexible packaging suppliers to install an HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press in 2015. Before accepting commercial orders, Amcor tested the press for a large range of packaging materials, conducting lab analysis for ink migration, compatibility, and strength. More than 100 applications were approved for the HP Indigo 20000 press, designed for printing flexible packaging, shrink sleeves and labels.

“We are pleased with the performance of the press”, said Thierry De Schryver, Manager of the Amcor Gent manufacturing site. “Our customers have chosen digital printing for a variety of packaging applications. They also like the option of using digital print for promotional packs and prototyping”.

Amcor is a global packaging supplier, with sites in 40 countries, supplying a broad range of rigid and flexible packaging products into the food, beverage, healthcare, home and personal care and tobacco packaging industries.

“We developed HP Indigo 20000 with the needs of the most demanding brands and converters worldwide in mind”, said Alon Bar-Shany, HP Indigo general manager, HP Inc. “We are proud and honored that Amcor, one of the leading names in flexible packaging, has adopted the solution and is bringing to market digitally printed packaging. We look forward to working together with Amcor to lead the next phase of the digital packaging revolution”.

Amcor serves a broad range of industries and will use the HP Indigo 20000 to expand its business, allowing its customers to benefit from the wealth of benefits offered by digitally printed packaging solutions.
