ΣΥΝΑΓΩΓΗ ΜΟΝΑΣΤΗΡΙΩΤΩΝ
Βρίσκεται πάνω στην οδό Συγγρού και είναι ίσως η σημαντικότερη
συναγωγή στην πόλη. Ανεγέρθηκε με πρωτοβουλία της Ίντας Αροέστη
που ήθελε να τιμήσει τη μνήμη του συζύγου της Ισαάκ. Με τη λήξη
του πολέμου και την επιστροφή των επιζώντων Εβραίων, η Συναγωγή
Μοναστηριωτών αποτέλεσε την κεντρική συναγωγή του εβραϊκού
πληθυσμού της πόλης.
MONASTIR SYNAGOGUE
Located on Syggrou Street, this is
the most significant synagogue
in the town. The project started
at the initiative of Ida Aroesti
to honor the memory of her
husband Isaac. After the war and
the return of the surviving Jews,
the Monastir Synagogue become
the main synagogue of the Jewish
population of the town.

Βρίσκεται πάνω στη
Βασιλέως Ηρακλείου και
είναι αφιερωμένη στη
μνήμη των θυμάτων του
Ολοκαυτώματος. Είναι
χτισμένη πάνω στη θέση
του μικρού ευκτηρίου

οίκου «Μπουρλά»
γνωστού ως «Καλ ντε λα
Πλάσα», που από το 1921 εξυπηρετούσε τις λατρευτικές ανάγκες των
Εβραίων που εργάζονταν στην παρακείμενη αγορά.
YAD LEZIKARON SYNAGOGUE Situated on Vasileos Irakleiou Str., this syn-
agogue is dedicated to the memory of the Holocaust victims. Previously, in the
same location one would find the small temple Burla, known as “Kal de la Plaza”,
which since 1921 was the place of ritual for the Hebrews who worked in the ad-
jacent market.
ΕΒΡΑΪΚΟ ΝΕΚΡΟΤΑΦΕΙΟ ΘΕΣΣΑΛΟΝΙΚΗΣ
Ιδρύθηκε κατά την πρώιμη ρωμαϊκή εποχή, και αναπτύχθηκε μετά την
εγκατάσταση των Σεφαραδιτών Εβραίων το 1492 στη Θεσσαλονίκη.

JEWISH CEMETERY OF THESSALONIKI Founded during the early Roman era,
and developed following the establishment of Sephardic Jews in Thessaloniki in
1942. Unfortunately, during the German Occupation and after the end of the
war, all the burial monuments were destroyed to allow space for the Aristotle
University of Thessaloniki. In 2014 a contemporary monument was built in the
same location. Today the Hebrew community uses the Cemetery of Stavroupoli.
