Introduction is not necessary for this historic district. The fa-
mous market of the port, southeast of the center, is amongst
the top choices for food and entertainment! The once dis-
reputable area of the city, which until 1917 was the base of
wholesale (most oil-merchants stores were here, hence its
name), in 1985 it was proclaimed as a preserved area and in
1990 a redevelopment plan was put in action. From taverns
to cafés up to bistros and clubs, it is known for the wide range
of suggestions it offers. Walk on the pedestrian streets Ka-
touni and Aigyptou, on the central square of Ladadika and the
Morichovou Square and discover nice taverns and restaurants,
