Carnaby Street tends to be the shopping place for certain sub-cultures, and generally a younger audience. There is no-where else like it, and that is why it is so individual. It doesen't have much competition from surrounding areas, because places near by are more commercial, and formal. It is easy to get to; being two minutes walking distance from Oxford Circus station. On Carnaby Street there are shops that wouldn't be found on Oxford Street, or Bond Street, and that is what makes it so special and different.
