Gwennap Pit
On Sunday 7th August a service took
place at Gwennap Pit, Cornwall to
acknowledge the return of
Revd Steve Wild to the post of
Chair of Corwall District following
his year as President of the
Methodist Conference.
‘What a wonderful afternoon we had, at
an event organised by LWPT - with good
attendance, enjoyable singing, and inspiring
messages from Steve Wild, and Paul Smith,
which will remain in our memory.
Local people had all the organisational
details well under control, including
parking arrangements and a cream tea!
We came away filled with hope for the future,
and gratitude for the past.’

Starting a discussion
Loughton Methodist Church, London have been using Preach
magazine as a discussion starter at their quarterly fellowship
meetings.
Each issue is published a few weeks before the scheduled meetings which
give the Local Preachers and Worship Leaders just enough time to get their
hands on a copy and read the articles before the meeting.
David Hobbs says... ‘Everyone comes to the fellowship meeting ready to
pick up points from the articles. We always find lots to talk about, and the
discussions go where the Spirit leads! When we are preparing to preach, or
lead worship, the articles from Preach, and our subsequent discussions, will
provide excellent ideas and material for our services.’
