Grant case study
Molly Baldwin received a vocational grant
from LWPT last summer to help fund her
studies at London School of Theology
(LST).
‘I cannot express how grateful I am for
the grant. It has allowed me to afford
my tuition fees for my first year.
It meant that I could attend lectures,
which were a mix of academic, theological
and practical teaching. The course
included regular personal reflections, allowing
us to line up our personal growth with biblical teaching. This has been
wonderful in terms of preaching and leading from an authentic and confident
foundation.
I feel called to both worship ministry and preaching through the things
that God has highlighted to me during this year. I have been given so many
opportunities to refine and use my gifts and it has been a challenging but
encouraging experience. I have been leading worship at the church I’m part
of during term time, at LST itself, and at my church at home. I have also been
preaching at my home church and in smaller settings, which is a major leap
from where I was this time last year.
I have just begun my second year and I have the privilege of being on the
Student Committee, which is a role that I would not have considered this time
last year. However, through what I have learnt, by putting myself out there in
preaching, leading in various situations and making myself vulnerable, I felt
God call me to this whole new way of leadership.
I am still so overwhelmed by the generosity of LWPT and its supporters (when
I received the grant, I cried), and I’m amazed by what God has done through
it.’
