ICHTHUS - SUMMER 2017
Grant case study - BENJAMIN WILKS
Benjamin Wilks received a vocational
grant from LWPT last year. He is
currently training as a candidate for
full time ministry in the Free Church
of Scotland at Edinburgh Theological
Seminary.
‘The bulk of the year was spent
studying the Old Testament, New
Testament, Scottish Church History
and Systematic Theology at the seminary. We’ve also been privileged to get
stuck into our church in Dunfermline, and I have had many opportunities
to preach there and elsewhere over the past year. A six-week placement to
a pair of churches up in the Highlands was a great chance to get involved
in day-today ministry after a few years out of the daily realities of ministry
while studying at college.
At the end of the academic year I will graduate with a BTh in Theology and
then seek a call from a congregation somewhere in Scotland.
Thank you all for your generosity, we appreciate the part you have played in
my studies and my journey into full-time ministry.’
Thank you to everyone who donated to our winter appeal to help equip the
next generation of preachers. The appeal raised over £3000 which enables
LWPT to continue supporting people like Benjamin.
