Jimena Kirk ‘08
Jimena Kirk, was born and raised in Lima, Peru. She moved to San Francisco
in 2005, transferred to Immaculate Conception Academy as a sophomore,
and graduated in 2008. She attended City College of San Francisco and then
transferred to San Francisco State University where she earned a Bachelor’s
degree in Spanish. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in Spanish and Latin
American Literature. At SFSU she was very active in promoting the events and
resources the Spanish program had to offer. She founded a website to tutor and
teach Spanish to other students. After eight years away, she has returned to ICA
to teach Bilingual Students and non-native speakers. She enjoys being back
at ICA and hopes she can be a good mentor for the students, as many of her
teachers were when she was attending ICA.
Rory Dowd
Rory Dowd teaches US History, Government and a Freshman Religion class. He
has a B.A. in American History and a Master’s in Teaching from the University
of San Francisco. He is a supporter of the New York Knickerbockers and
enjoys attending trivia nights. He hopes his students will leave his class with
an understanding of their nation’s past and a dedication to making sure the
country lives up to our best ideals: equality, freedom and opportunity for all.
Kimberly “Kimi” Liem
Kimberly “Kimi” Liem teaches chemistry and physiology at ICA and this is
her seventh year of teaching science. She graduated from Occidental College
with a BA in Chemistry, and earned an MS in Science Education from Indiana
University, Bloomington. Kimi enjoys playing ukulele, swimming, sewing, and
spending time with her daughter.
