HEALTH & WEALTH n DIET
Blood Type Diet
By Laura Dorsey
Jordy Mango is 28 and he and his family live
in the St. Louis area of Missouri. Part of my
travels took me to St. Louis, so I stopped by
for a visit. The first thing I asked was WHY?
There is always a WHY. His wife Jennifer
brought out their son Jaxon. Jaxon was his
WHY. He ultimately knew that he had to do it
for himself, but Jaxon was the catalyst. Now
that he was a father, he started to think of his
legacy. Jordy wanted generational wealth
to leave his son, but he knew that genera-
tional wealth starts with generational health.
He could do nothing for his son if he did not
take care of himself. He knew that he need-
ed to change, but he did not want to put in
the work. He was listening to Heather B. of
"Sway in the Morning Show" on Sirius XM
radio, and she mentioned eating towards
her blood type, and this helped her with
weight loss. He said that it threw him off at
first, but it also intrigued him. He did a little
research. The blood type diet uses the four
blood types and matches them with foods
that work best for those blood types. Foods
we eat reacts chemically with our blood
type. Jordy went to his primary care physi-
cian before starting on this regiment. (He
wanted me to emphasize that his book and

discovered that his blood type was B+ and
then he and his wife went to work. They first
used a chart similar to the one below to help
determine what he should eat and what he
should avoid.
He also indicated
that along with the
diet was portion con-
trol. He said that your
stomach is the size of
a fist and he made
sure that his portions
fit his fist or his open
hand. At his height
of weight gain, Jordy
was 5’8” and over 270

lbs. With this plan, he
reduced his weight
to 190 lbs. and today he is at a comfortable
210 lbs., his ideal weight. When asked for
his final thoughts, he said that at the end of
the day, when it came to his weight and his
blood type diet, he only has to be honest
with two people, himself and God.

verything that you put into your
body has a positive and negative
effect. If you abuse food, then the
negative effect could be weight
gain and the connected health issues that
come with that. Once you realize the prob-
lem, then you must alternatively find the
solution. For food addiction, the possible
answer is a diet plan. A recent episode
of “Red Table Talk” discussed the topic of
fasting and eating for your blood type. This
topic piqued my interest, but I did not want
a celebrity spokesperson to discuss the
topic. As a writer, I have at my disposal oth-
er writers. I reached out to a young man,
who was pushing his unpublished book,
B Positive—My Journey on Losing 70+ lbs.
Naturally, and he agreed to an interview.
