Steward Modular Temporary Facility Design-Build, Centex Rooney (now Balfour Beatty) – Several K-12 schools and UCF Apartments and Academic Housing Facilities, Haskell Company – A Women’s Correctional facility, Demetree Central – Orlando International Airport Parking Garage, which are all major firms. Beyond construction, CTG has hired several graduates from the construction engineering school and school of Business and industry. CTG has also utilized many interns from FAMU with quality hands-on experience that has accelerated learning and, in some cases, yielded construction upstart businesses. Currently my children all work within various capacities in the business. CTG’s continued growth, maintained integrity is a legacy that my children can one day take over and continue on an upward trajectory. I hope that they will understand the value of relationships to sustain CTG well into the future, for I feel my success has been built around real relationships and partnerships. I have always stood by my friends and they have stood by me. n We are particularly proud of the fact that as an African American construction firm, we look beyond the project to how it will affect the surrounding community. The team explored how creative place making could be used to instill a sense of place and honor the site’s historical significance, while also listening and responding to the needs of the surrounding community.
