Dreadlocks
and Maintenance

Dry Completely – A sour, musty smell can
occur if hair isn’t thoroughly dried before
being tied up or styled.
Be Consistent – With any type of hair,
you must have a healthy hair regimen
and be consistent with it for optimum
health. Moisture is a must – Keeping hair moistur-
ized and covering at night with a satin cap
will help maintain moisture.
Don’t Shy Away from Shampooing
and Conditioning – Not shampooing
locs regularly is none other than a myth!
Shampooing will keep away buildup and
will help maintain a natural shine. Buildup
can also make locs weighty.
Retwisting – Everyone likes to have a fresh
look, however, retwisting too much will
create thinning and breaking at the root.
Starting and wearing locs, dreadlocks
or dreads is a patience builder. Locking
your hair is an individual journey and is
completely different for each person.
Loving and nurturing your hair will pro-
mote growth so don't be discouraged!
