WOMEN IN BUSINESS Kalysa Wilson Emage Studio Q & A What was one of your biggest professional or personal challenges and how did you overcome it? V isionary entrepreneur and pho- tographer, Kalysa Wilson has more than 20 years of experience in en- trepreneurship and photography.      Kalysa started developing businesses at the age of 17, conceptualizing and launch- ing an online company that allowed her to dive right into branding and design. While this particular business brought opportu- nities for her to coach others with their brands, Kalysa decided to pursue a career in Information Technology. Knowing that she had a drive for business and a passion for helping others, but also wanting to up- hold a promise to her parents to get a de- gree and finish school, Kalysa took a back seat from coaching and entrepreneurship. While pursuing her degree, she contin- ued to grow her photography business.   After a lucrative career in Information Technology and as a college professor, Kalysa decided to go back to her passion of photography and design full time and opened a photography studio, which would become the number one studio in Central Florida for Boudoir photography.  Kalysa has been profiled in several mag- azines including Getting Married, Orlan- do Weddings early in her career. She is Opening a business with no knowledge of how to run a photography business, turning a hobby into a full-time business while holding down two other full-time jobs and raising two small children who were toddlers at the time. What is a regimen you do with hopes of maintaining a balanced life? What is your definition of Women Empowerment? Empowering other women to be successful in anything they put their minds to achieve. Helping them, adding them, to see their potential.  What words of wisdom would you offer another woman? Dream big, work hard, and never stop believing in yourself. You can do anything you put your mind to! I make time for myself and my family while enjoying life. Photography is part of my soul, but I also make time for my family and myself when I am not shooting or designing. known as a top-rated photographer and clients have traveled to the United States to work with Kalysa. "I found my love for photography when I first picked up a cam- era in high school. My passion turned into a full-time business in November 2008 when I started with shooting weddings. After a bride’s request, my love for pho- tography and design was transformed into a full-time Photography and Design Studio. (Formally Ashira Photography). I have been shooting Boudoir and Life- style  photography for over 10 years. I have also coached photographers one- on-one on how to run a business and de- velop a brand that will stand out in their markets.  I am a mother of two amazing children. I could not live without seafood, créme brûlée  or listening to music while dancing and swaying to the beat!
