I HONESTLY THINK September 2014 | Page 63

wrong if you keep it simple.

What’s on your wishlist at the moment?

I have been looking for a simple pair of heeled sandals for a long while now and never managed to find the perfect pair. Also, a silk white kimono-style robe which could double as a dress.

How long does it take you to put an outfit together in the morning?

Having toned down my shopping habit and simplified my wardrobe, I am now able to get ready and out the door within twenty or so minutes for daily commutes. If I have to get ready for a special occasion, I will put in more effort towards doing my hair and make-up and will take a bit longer.

If you could have any job in the world,

what would it be?

I have always been somewhat of a

dreamer and in my dream I am the

owner of a vintage boutique in a quiet

part of a large city. That said, even

dreamers have aspirations and being a

respected fashion editor would certainly be an interesting career path.

How does your individual sense of style influence your outlook on trends?

I am not big on trends, but occasionally I do enjoy having fun with those that fit my personal style well.

Favourite fashion designer?

I'm not big on designers, I'm big on ideas.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Life is full of surprises and fashion is a living entity. With so many options, in such a dynamic industry, I certainly don't want to limit my options so early into my career.

Is there someone in the fashion industry that you’d love to have a conversation with?

Dries Van Noten, Edie Sedgwick and the Olsens.

Do your friends and/or family dress similarly to you?

We are all different people and we like different things, which is incredibly inspiring to me. Seeing a variety of fashion styles and personalities around you is a wonderful thing, you have the opportunity to learn so much from each other.

What risks do you take when it comes to fashion? Are there any risks that you’d stay clear of?

I try new things all the time, sometimes I end up liking them, sometimes I hate them but the important part is having fun with it!

What positive experiences and negative experiences have you experienced though blogging and the blogging community?

After four years of being in the blogging world, I am truly glad

that so far I've had very few negative experiences. The positive sides of blogging are always getting to know new people and exchanging your opinions with people who are as passionate as you are about fashion and style.

Have you experienced any hate regarding your sense of style on your blog or social media? How do you deal with it?

It's totally fine if someone doesn't enjoy my blog or my sense of style - to each his own. Yet visiting a blog religiously and leaving nasty comments is a different story. Personally, I don't allow any type of hate speech on my blog or my social sites, neither directed at me or other people. I'm all about constructive criticism, which can actually help improve things instead of just trying to make people feel bad.
